Make&Mold BIO Vase, Rutger de Regt & Marlies van Putten

The Make&Mold Project started as a low cost thermoplastic modelling process, in order to reclaim industrial materials and technique's used in conventional plastic molding industry. This self-developed process is patented and consist of various intelligent production processes, based on a single wall molding technique. Make&Mold BIO vase (ENG) Due to the low processing temperature of the biodegradable granules we found a way to use a balloon as a flexible mold. After filling the balloon with biodegradable thermoplastic granules we sculpt the mold into an object. When the mold is dipped in hot water the granules melt and bond. After cooling we remove the balloon and a unique object is finshed.
